Whenever I start thinking the Savage is too small for touring, I read a article about someone taking a long trip one or an older article of someone going cross country many years ago on an even smaller bike.
Many years ago, a 650cc would have been a "big" bike. I'm not saying it wouldn't be more comfortable on a bigger bike, but the Savage can handle it. At least mine can. I've removed the white spacer and put the Supertrapp on. I was cruising at 65-70 no problem this past weekend. I am going to get a Windvest for the bike and that should help even more.
I'm lucky that I have my SO's Royal Star to load all my "stuff" on and don't need to load my Savage too much when we go overnight.
